We kick the weekend off with our Opening Ceremonies! The Guild Leaders will be welcoming everyone back to the first in-person Maple Gel Con since 2019, and running through the schedule for the weekend.

 

JACKBOX

Pull out your phone and join in on the fun, because our first game of the weekend is Jackbox! We’ve got a special surprise for the final game of the night, so you don’t wanna miss this.

 

THE MAPLE GEL GAUNTLET
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM (ETOBICOKE ROOM)

 

This multi-round tournament is a first for Maple Gel Con. Contestants will be put through trials spanning three different Tales games: Abyss, Graces and Symphonia. The winner of the Maple Gel Gauntlet will receive a copy of Tales of Symphonia Remastered for the console of their choice.

 

MOVIE NIGHT - TALES OF ZESTIRIA: THE X
9:00 PM - 11:00 PM (ETOBICOKE ROOM)

 

We end our Friday evening with a movie night. So sit back, relax, and get ready to join Sorey and his friends as we watch the first few episodes of Tales of Zestiria: The X.

 

PANELS - SATURDAY, July 29th

 

ARTIST ALLEY

Come by the Artist Alley on Saturday and take a look at all the incredible Tales material that artists have for sale. The Maple Gel Con merch booth and Nam Cobazaar will also run during these hours.

 

PROP MAKING WITH CAPTAIN STEEL
10:00 AM (centennial ballroom B)

 

Have you ever wanted to create awesome props for your cosplay, but don’t know where to start? Worry not as Captain Steel has over a decade of experience in prop making to help you get started! This panel will cover the variety of materials and processes you can use, what tools you’ll need to get started for each, and some bonus tips and tricks. If you have no experience, some experience, or a lot of experience with prop making this panel will definitely be worth checking out!

 

COSPLAY PHOTOGRAPHY 101

Cosplayers and Cosplay Photographers are joining forces on this panel. You’ll get all the tips and tricks to walk away from your shoot with incredible photos, from both in front of and behind the camera.

 

FASHION POLICE
12:00 PM (centennial ballroom B)

 

Sound the alarm! The Fashion Police have arrived at Maple Gel Con! This panel will take you through the best and the worst fashion choices in Tales. Plus, there’s an interactive feature to this panel! You can submit your favourite Tales outfit in the Fashion Police channel in the Maple Gel Discord for everyone to roast or toast.

 

PROP MANIPULATION (JUGGLEMANIA)
1:00 PM (centennial ballroom B)

 

Ever notice how many Tales characters fight with something that isn't a sword or staff? A lot of those battle styles are practiced as Circus arts! Join Katzer in learning the basic foundations of several different props including Kendama, poi, and juggling!

 

RAPPIG DODGEBALL
2:00 PM (centennial ballroom B)

 

Dive into combat with the most high tech of weapons - rappigs. These little babies can one shot any protagonist, villain or NPC. Teams will be decided by opinions and love for the series, and there will be the prize of honour for the last standing.

 

MASQUERADE PRE-JUDGING

Our Masquerade pre-judging begins here, shortly after the Artist Alley closes.

 

JUST DANCE! Dance lessons with Madelaine

Madelaine has returned to help get you ready for the Maple Gel Formal with some awesome dance lessons! 

 

DLC DESIGN SHOWCASE
4:00 PM (centennial ballroom A)

 

DLC Design Showcase is all about leaning into our love of costumes by showing off our own designs!  Submit designs in the form of artistic renditions, collages of clothing items, moodboard, cosplay photo, an elevator pitch in writing; whatever your heart desires!  At the panel, we'll be sharing the submissions and discussing our love of silly Tales fashion do's and don’ts!

 

MAPLE GEL MASQUERADE

Come see the amazing participants in the Masquerade contest. Here we will have cosplayers showing off cosplays and performing skits for prizes! Prizes will be distributed at the Closing Ceremonies.

Time to put those dance lessons to the test! This party goes until midnight, so have fun and dance the night away!

 

TALES AGAINST HUMANITY

Time for the raunchiest game all weekend! Get creative with your team to come up with the funniest card combinations, and score as many points as you can before the clock strikes 12.

Come learn how to Needle Felt! Katzer will be doing an in-person live demo/tutorial of needle felting! Learn everything you need to know to get started, and leave with your own felted Tales of Mascot!

Finally in person, let us embark on an adventure with your favourite Tales of characters in DND.

As Arise's heroes liberated their homeworld, we saw them bust through one corrupt and oppressive system after another, and intentionally or not, they may have had a lot to say about civil authorities and what true personal freedom means. So just what does Tales of Arise say about socialism, capitalism, anarchism, and all sorts-of-isms? Join Leach in Arise Anarchy and discuss the true meaning of liberation! For Dhana!

 

TALES OF DRAW TOGETHER

Come unwind as the con begins to close by drawing some Tales art with the Guild. Some of the Patreon Wanted Poster Tier art will be available for colouring.

The first ever live recording of the MapleCast happens on our last day together. We’ll be doing a tier ranking of as many Tales party members as we can get through before the time runs out.
