Maple Gel Masquerade
Maple Gel Con-Lines Masquerade is divided into Craftsmanship and Hall/Public. Please read through both sections to determine which section best suits you. You are allowed to enter both sections if both appeal to you! Submission deadline is July 29th, 2021.
Craftsmanship Contest Rules

Tales cosplays ONLY.

1 entry per person for each online competition (you may enter both hall and craftsmanship contest).

United States and Canada contestants are the only contestants eligible to have awards mailed to them. If you are from another country you can pick up your award at the next in-person Maple Gel Con.

No OCs. All Tales cosplays must be from existing Tales media.

Gijinka and gender-bent cosplays are allowed. BUT we need references to be able to judge them properly.

Costume cannot have won any previous awards in the past.

No purchased or commissioned costumes.

You must email your entry by the specified date posted. You may send multiple emails if needed for extra pictures or use Dropbox to send more photos.

Group entries are allowed if either one person has made all of the costumes in the group or if two or more people worked together on each others costumes. (ex: one person did sewing and the other did props).

Please see the chart below for level breakdown and how much of your cosplay is expected to be made yourself.​

Please specify your name, cosplay handle if you have one, character name and game, level (novice, journeyman, master, youth), number of previous awards, how long you’ve been sewing/crafting.

Please tell us about how you made your costume. Be sure to mention important things and techniques you did. Also let us know about the fabrics you chose, patterns used, wig work, props, time spent on your costume, and any other important things you want us to know about. We don’t need to know your step by step process, but make sure we know all of the important things. Also please specify anything you did not make or anything you altered.

Make sure to attach your wip pictures, reference pictures, final pictures (front & back) and any other pictures for any details you want us to see. We ask that for your final photos that you are wearing your cosplay.

Collage photos are encouraged.

Please let us know in your email submission if you are okay with Maple Gel Con posting your photo to their Social Media.

Hall/Public Rules

Group entries are allowed but only if everyone in the photo wants to enter as one unit. If you are apart of a group entry then you cannot post another photo into the competition.

Costumes can be self made, purchased, or commissioned. You do NOT have to make your costume for the Hall competition.

Photos do not need to be professional, but you MUST credit your photographers and any commissioners you had (if any).

You must post your photo in the specified location within the given time frame. The location and time frame will be announced on Maple Gel’s Social Media.

Voting will not start until after the photo submission deadline. And the voting instructions will be posted after the submission deadline.

No late entries allowed.

Each person will be allowed 3 votes per person. You cannot use all your votes on the same entry.

Voting must be done in original post. Any votes placed outside of the original post will NOT count towards any totals.

Harassment of any kind WILL NOT be tolerated. This contest is strictly for fun.

Unless the poster mentions they want feedback, do NOT give feedback.

No character bashing. People are allowed to like problematic characters.

Anyone found harassing other contestants will be disqualified from any awards and their votes will be removed.
