Hey Guild - Nikki (katzerdist) here on behalf of your guild leaders.

 

     We hope everyone is doing well! We miss you, and we miss Maple Gel. We’re coming up on two years since our last con and the start of our hiatus. But unfortunately, I don’t have the update you’re hoping to hear. The fact is it has been two years, and your guild leaders are not in a place to take up active organizer roles again. So we felt it was time to make a new official statement.

 

     We are sad to say we see no return to Maple Gel as it once was any time in the near future. So we have a couple options to run by you - The Maple Gel Guild.

 

     First off, if any of our long-time loyal guild members would like to step in and take over as guild leaders shoot me a DM. Nothing would make us happier than to see MGC live on and stay inside the family. You would get all of our files, assets, the website, the socials, and the remaining funds in the Maple Gel accounts. Which leads to our second options.

 

     We know taking on planning a whole con is a big ask, and it’s not super likely there will be any takers. But there is some money left from Maple Gel 2023 and our patreon supporters that would have gone towards the next event. Ultimately that is the Guild’s funds, and we want it to be spent as such. SO, perhaps we do a one day mini-con somewhere in the GTA as a small farewell. Perhaps we do an escape room day with dinner after like we did a couple times over the years. Maybe there is something online we can arrange, or a meetup at another convention so more guildees can all participate (as opposed to limiting it to people able to travel to the gta for one day).

 

     The point is, Maple gel gets one more hurrah bankrolled by us and we want to hear from you what would be the best choice of hurrah. If you have ideas or suggestions, or if you want to stay informed with what ends up happening, check out our discord or FB page
